I've bought a secondhand Intel PRO/Wireless 2011 B LAN PC card for my Jornada 720, but I can't find drivers for it. Intel stopped supporting this card. Intel does provide hpc drivers for the 2011 card but for the 2011 B card there are only PPC drivers.
OK, I should not have bought this card ...... but I was told that this card should work. Well, it does not, so far.
The hpcfactor Hardware Compatibility List contains drivers for the 2011-card only and not for the 2011B-card.
Does anybody know where I can find hpc drivers for the 2011B????
Any help will be appreciated enormously!!
Thanks!!!!

| If you absolutly need I've got a CD that came with the exact card that I used on my 720 just fine. Only thing is the card never ran well with anything like ministumbler. |

| I have an Intel 2011 B. I've never gotten it to work on any of my hpcs, sorry.
edit: Bob, what driver did you use? I have both the cd and all the downloads from Intel.

| Ummm....if my HPC ever died I'd have to redo the drivers (had to do a few times...) and I would try the plain ol' 2011B and 2011 drivers. It would take some messing with but would get to work. But it's not worth the hassle really. Go splurge $15 (or free if you find a nice person) and get an old ORiNOCO Silver (which can be FW modded to Gold (Allows for 128-bit WEP instead of just 64)) and use them. Cheap, good, and they looooove linux.
I can't rightly do any testing with it cause my PC Card has shed a lot of pins from itself and doesn't work. So I honestly don't know which to use... |

| Bob,
did you get a hpc driver for the 2011B on your cd?
So it does exist??
Maybe Intel will send me a copy ....
Thanks!

| Yeah there's one labeled for WinCE 3.0 (HPC) that came with. But the disc is older and I know what they've got on their site (or did) is newer and better. |

Intel says "Unfortunately, as you are aware this product is now End of Interactive Support, so we are unable to provide support by email or telephone for this product.".
I think I better give up this battle and buy a new card that works for sure.
Thanks for all your help en advices!!

| Good Idea. I looked at my 2011b cd contents and could only find ppc drivers. |

| Hi, I have a Intel PRO 2011 (not the B version ) LAN card. I remembered seeing this in the past. (From the Intel Site. )

Intersil* 2.5 Chipset ----- Yes
Have you tried the Intersil drivers?

Just a thought.

| The 2011b is drastically different from the 2011. The 2011b has no onboard firmware. |

Yep. The Symbol 24 series are the same. The firmware is integrated into the largish driver. |
