True, the second window in Opera is faster. Also, Opera dumps all its memory back to the system as opposed to IE which clings to it like a miser. But it's a full minute after first starting Opera that a page comes up--oy.

a full minute? when i still had the 300mhz laptop with 64mb ram, opera 7.54 was the latest. its launch time was nowhere near a full minute! i.e. it was launching fast enough... FF was a nightmare though

Uninstalled 9.02 and installed 8.54. Cut the loading time by 75 percent, go figure. It may even launch faster than IE 6.0

Hmm, good idea, cmonex and Jake, I'll try it on Win95 instead of 9.. I dont need widgets in Windows 95 ..
