| Does wine install on a J720 with Linux? If so what can you do with it? I am really trying to get e-sword to install on it. | |

| It won't work unfortunately. WINE isn't truly an emulator and doesnt do any sort of CPU emulation. | |

| The name WINE actually stands for "Wine Is Not an Emulator" - a typical GNU recursive acronym. It works by intercepting Windows API calls and passing them (perhaps after minor processing) to the equivalent Linux/Unix library. This allows x86 Windows code to run because every time a library call is made it is intercepted and replaced, and the rest of the x86 code runs as normal. The reason why I'm stressing x86 is that this means that an x86 processor is needed to run the x86 code - which the Jornada doesn't have. | |
