Anyway tenjeanosi, they are to busy backstabbing themselves to actually respond to your excellent comment!

I am glad I did that.. Anyway, I am a member of PDA Street, Brighthand, Pocket PC Mag, but the most important is HPC:Factor..

Since contributors to this thread are far better versed in handheld history than I am, I post for my own elucidation. I remember looking at a tiny handheld in Radio Shack circa 1994-5 that had a butterfly keyboard. I always thought it was a Psion, but I don't think it was.

Any name come to mind?

Jake

A butterfly keyboard is a keyboard that exands on both sides (like wings) upon opening. IBM laptops tried one for a while, but there was a mid-90s HPC that did the same.

I was thinking my beloved HP 660LX was called a "palmtop", even though it was an HPC. Am I mistaken or was this a misnomer? Just curious.

LOL It looks like tenjeangosi and cmonex have hijacked their thread. Way to go guys! I agree with John. You don't expose yourself on a semi-professional (or professional, for that matter) basis without having researched your topic and know what you're saying. I've done that in a couple of instances in my own professional field and come away looking stupid, then having to do what I can to save face. If you are talking about something or stating an opinion that could be construed the least bit controversially, you need to understand and even argue the opposing side. Of course it helps if you can then rebutt it. ;+) The problem is when you don't and someone with an opposing opinion comes along and knows both sides better than you do (i.e. cmonex and tenjeangosi), you really look stupid. Not to slight anyone else, including tenjeangosi, but cmonex, you come across on HPC:Factor as knowing all WinCE devices very well, even those you don't prefer or use extensively. As I said to C:Amie recently, I try not to speak unless I'm sure of an answer (re: HPCs), because I know that I don't know everything. Sometimes I don't take enough care and still speak out of line, but at least I learn. I don't know anything about this Ed guy, but he better be careful going up against cmonex, and others who know their stuff! Maybe that's why we haven't seen a response. ;+)
