| CmoneX, I see the accented character
However there is a thread in the staff discussion that this is a strain of. So it is known and it has been reported to PD9 as a kernel fault. |

| When V2 came, and I couldn't log on, the first thing I did was delete all cookies. I know you have already talked about it, but I would strongly recommend everyone having problems that has to do with login or posting to delete all cookies. It's not that painful and in a certain sense healthy to do it. |

| Most of the cookies sitting in your cookies folder are being used to trace you around the Internet. Only a few of them contain log-on details. Our servers may have pushed out more than one of them, and with MSIE they don't just go into the Cookies folder.
I most certainly did read your post, there is only the one accented character in the post in the database, so nothing is being dropped because nothing else exists in it... may be you didn't read mine |

| I haven't forgotten about this thread or the issues in it recently.
Basically, I've not heard a peep from PD9 on the issues that I have reported in the last couple of weeks, so there is little point on adding any more to the list.
The cookie issues that people are experiencing are a concern to me, though it looks like a cookie clearout fixes it for most - it should be necessary at all. |

| őőőőőőőőőűűűűűűűűűűű
if this line (except the ő's and ű's ) doesnt show up in the database then its a really serious bug. it DOES get dropped, believe me please
they get dropped even in PM's. a guy wrote me a long PM in hungarian and i could hardly read it because of this
or. ...
"hell! hogy vagy? n jl! remlem, te is!" - see? Edited by cmonex 2006-02-21 3:27 PM

| All I have in the database on that line is:
őőőőőőőőőűűűűűűűűűűű
All the O's and U's basically.
I don't disbelieve you
Edit: ah, the forum Hex converted that line. It should have said:
#337;#337;#337;#337;#337;#337;#337;#337;#337;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369;#369; |

| Seeing some of the discussions I have had with other MBBS users, I don't think this is just us.
I've knocked together a quick diagnostic script here:
http://www.hpcfactor.com/staff/27/cookiediag.asp
The next time you are experiencing this log-in issue, please pay it a visit. If the server is unable to write data into your browsers cookie cache, it will tell you so. If not it will tell you that your cookie manager isn't causing the log-in problem. |

| Maybe you can put that link in the login page. Something like "Cannot login? Please check your cookies compatibility HERE". Or should you wait until more people report the problem? Because you never know how many users have problems without reporting... |
