I meant my version here, but we can play with yours too if you want to demonstrate others.

Drop me a PM if you want to 'come play'.

The chat room; I've been doing some research and the esyest method I could find is by using our own software, I now have a fully working software based VB chat room, all what is needed now is some small modification, and to port it to CE, does anyone know anything about the CE Winsock control? Thata all I need to know to full port it to ce, I have a (non) working (yet) demo I have used and it is quite good, can't remember if it has emicons though?

C:Aime: Whats your version then?

Also my maiserver has a jabber server, Could we use that? Its Merak Mail Server BTW.

Nick

We need like a fixed time for online chat.. That way, I don't have to go in @ random time, and wait for a user to join.

In the search results, the column that indicates forum section is unnecessary, since the results are already divided into those sections.

Aye true. The new forum core has a vastly updated search system, we will see how it falls together then.... still waiting

As for the chat times, if we can sort out a permanent chat system this is something we will do for sure, in the mean time it is all just testing.

How about a "Network and Wireless" section, under Tech support?

This is just because there are way too many threads about Wifi, and quite a few threads about ethernet cards. Plus the cause for these threads are very much varying; hardware, drivers, OS, settings, s/w conflicts, etc etc.

IMHO any thread that says "wireless" is a mystery to be unfolded. It would be more efficient if they are grouped into the same section, in which case common answers are more likely shared instead of repeated.

Yea, they're annoying me too.
No one searches.

If I could add sub forums to the mix I'd have put one under hardware support already. Sad thing is this hasn't been implemented in the core.

We're reluctant at this stage to add more master categories. I'll see.

Good thinking though.

Seems to happen frequently at the moment. I've not attempted to pin it down. I can fix it be clearing the database cache out.
As with everything I seem to be saying at the moment Waiting for the now core

I don't know if it is a bug but this link
http://www.pdatopsoft.com/PalmOS/PDAcalc-classic-(Palm-OS)
does not include (Palm-OS) in it when you click it. It needs to include it.

Parenthesis are invalid url code. If you need to drop a url like that into a post, use BBS markup
[ url=http://www.pdatopsoft.com/PalmOS/PDAcalc-classic-(Palm-OS)]Repeat url or type friendly name here[ /url]

No space after the first square bracket of each element.
