Is HTMLVIEW.DLL unit specific or is it the same for many HPCs?

Can it be copied from the Jornada 720 or 728?

I don't have one on my 900C and seem to get a fair number of requests for it from some software programs. Don't know if copying it to my Windows folder will work or not, but sure would like to give it a try.

Perplexed as to why it's in Hardware Support, so moved to HPC2000 Support

Rich, I have a SA1110 HPC2000 HTMLView.dll file I can probably sort out a distribution point for it.
I dropped you a PM as well.

Trust me without hesitation when I say that it is there, just a super hidden dll - like most of the OS core.

Attached is a list of everything in \windows (inc super hidden) on the 720

Just thought I'd post an update of my HTMLVIEW.DLL dillemma.

Several HPC 2000 programs will not run on the 900C, things like Laridian Pocket Bible, MDict, and Quick Lookup to name a couple.

They all have one similar characteristic: The software opens dual windows. That is one window contains a search phrase, book of the bible, etc, and the other contains the data.

After weeks of exhausting searching I have found a version of HTMLVIEW that lets the 900C execute these programs without erring...but alas it is not perfect.

If you want to try it, you can download the file here: http://hpcnec.com/programs/hview.zip Unzip the HTMLVIEW.DLL and copy it to your Windows folder, not the folder where the program resides.

As I mentioned, the program is not complete because while it allows you to enter the key search word, or shows all the dictionary words, in the window where the resultant information is supposed to be displayed, that window is blank. Nothing...nada.

But this does show me that the only obstacle to making this software work is a HTMLVIEW.DLL with the characteristics that we need.

Rich

can anyone send me a list of the MP900's files after a hard reset? oh well it's no problem if you don't have a freshly hardreset 900, a complete list would still help (with the hidden system files too).
thanks

EDIT: it is the "plain" 900 i'm interested in, not the 900c
oh well, maybe it wasn't the best topic to post this request in, but you just were talking about making such lists, so..
