microsoft portrait cant run on jornada 680e

does anyone know why microsoft portrait cant run on jornada 680e win ce 2.11. When you load the aplication it says 'cannot find target application'?

I think you need the mfc and ole dlls, you can download them from the developers download section, (go to the downloads page and click on the link to the bottom right of the page)

No, it is a CE3 StrongArm application, not a 2.11 SH3 app.

Microsoft has already stated that portrait doesn't work and will never work on sh3 devices, they say that sh3 devices lack of the "computing power" required to use the app

Methinks it's just laziness to develop for an (almost) abandoned cpu

And it still baffles me why its so difficult for developers to build for the different CPUs, since the embedded tools just require you to select the OS ver (HPC2000, HPC/Pro etc) and then the CPU (SH3, ARM, MIPS etc) ... granted some apps that use the newer APIs on the HPC2000 may need to do work arounds, but I believe it is more the exception than the norm.
