mr-mac, excellent, glad you emailed him, i assume he does talk some english but i was waiting for stingraze to send a native japanese email.. that could have helped.

anyway, no, i don't think you need flashrom for the development, for years many hpc's had no flashrom, since ce 1.0., i guess they just burned the new versions in rom chips. but we can hope, maybe as late as in 2003 there was a chance to use flashrom for developing!

what we need is bootloader source, and even better, driver source, especially with regards to CF/SD slots, to implement the flashing code.

Stingraze and I were exchanging PM's in December; my last reply to him is still sitting in my PM outbox unopened. It is dated 12/30. I hope he is well.

I purchased a battery from him Dec 29, and have not heard from him either. He does not follow the pattern for a scam artist. (His prices, while not charitable, were pretty low, and he was always helpful with sharing tips he came across.) I have bought a few things from him without problem. He has several websites including http://www.hpcnut.co.uk and http://www.sigmarion3.com/ . He does not answer emails, and has not posted on his own forums since Dec 29.

I am like you, and fear something bad has happened. Car wreck? I sure hope not!

I've heard from Stingraze. He has been hospitalized. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
