I'm trying to make Trendnet CF Ethernet card TE-CF100 work on Sigmarion III. Installation on Sig3 thru AS reported incompatible CPU with error code 1824, but it reported no error for MP900C. After the installation, it worked on MP900C. I copied the same dll (LE100.dll) from MP900C to Sig3, but Sig3 did not detect the card at all. Since both MP900C and Sig3 use the same CPU, I wonder CE .NET 4.1 lacks something that CE .NET 4.2 has. I did use ExecutabilityCheck to check the driver, but the check simply reported "NDIS" can't be loaded for both machines. Is there any way to hack (hexedit) the driver to work with CE .NET 4.1? A working CF Ethernet card would add one more feature to Sig3 that rivals other subnotebooks.

The link to the driver is http://www.trendnet.com/en/asp/download_manager/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=205&SUBMIT=Go

Hey, it works! Now, my Sig3 can use wired or wireless adapter to network with the world!

The trick is to use a registry editor to change the value of ImagePath from ne2000.dll to le100.dll.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\NE2000\ImagePath change ne2000.dll to le100.dll
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\NE20001\ImagePath change ne2000.dll to le100.dll

I got this tip from Axim users.

I guess you can do the same thing for Hawking's CF card as some suggested they were identical.

uh, my socket LPE cf ethernet card works plug and play... the best lan card!

it is cf type I, uses ne2000, has its own drivers if you want advanced functionality, advanced drivers in rom on quite some hpc's, works with 900c bootloader too.

Yeah, Socket card is definitely the best. It is also the most expensive one.

don't ask how much mine cost!

but has proved really useful when saving some 900's turned into bricks (by me ), by downloading the updater bootloader code over ethernet...

that reminds me, i must really try a RAM OS finally
