| Hi all,
having bought a new Netgear MA401 rev.D card, and having spent a few days downloading and trying various drivers without any success, I wonder if there is someone who managed to install this card on a NEC 900C willing to help?
I downloaded and installed the driver from HCL and it seemd that the NEC recognizes the card, but it doesn't display any wireless network. After installing the card I typed prismnds.dll as the driver name. When I open the card setting window I get the message "Unable to communicate with device driver".
HEEEELP?
Thanx |

| I had one. The driver did drive the card, but the card detected no WiFi networks. I even updated its firmware. Finally, I sold it that still worked under Win2K. |

| That means the driver works, but the card failed to detect any networks. Just like the one I had. Edited by CAuser 2007-12-24 11:09 AM

| OK, if there' s noone out there able to help, then I would like to know who put that card on the Hardware compatibility list as compatible? Cos I'd like to ask him to take this card off my hands. As it set me back 25 pounds. |

| well MA401 should work, at least there are working cards out there - maybe it is like the linksys WPC11 v3? some subrevisions work some don't? |

| I appreciate that can be the case, but I was hoping that the technologically advanced members of this community like you might have some advice to try and get this card working? |

| I'm having a similar experience recently with a brand new MA401 on my IBM Z50. Seems to install OK, but sees nothing in the way of wireless access points.
Firmware is 1.03.06.

| Hi, glad you replied. So, that makes two of us with the same problem. Can you tell me which revision is your card?
Also, is there anyone ot there with a MA401 that is working under windows CE? |

| C:Amie, just out of curiousity, and because it seems you put most of the hardware on the HCL, do you actually test each device or do you take someone elses word for it? Cos it seems there are at least three of us here that can't get the netgear MA401 card to work, and the card is still on the HCL as compatible. Now, if any of you technologically advanced members of this community can't help us to get this card working, aren't you at least supposed to take it off the HCL or put some kind of warning so some other poor soul doesn't spring 25 pounds for a card that doesn't work? |

Yes, me . It works PERFECTLY in my TSinus Pad (on CE.NET 4.1 ) along with AEGIS Client, bringing WPA to my device! It uses PRISM reference driver version 3.00.08.0236 (Jul 17 2003 ) and its firmware version is 1.08.00.00.
