I bought a few thin clients (visara brand) and some are geode gx1's and some are SIS550 (all x86 compat).

They all have Ce.net 4.2 on them.

They have 32 meg m-systems DOC's. Insyde bios.

The e300 (or tr2220) has a sis550 200 mhz with 3volt 32 meg DOC millenium plus. It is using this chip as bios as well. (I want to get that off and use a regular bios chip since I have the socket, but thats another project.)

The e360 (or tr3331) has a geode gx1 with cs5530a 300 mhz. 5 volt 32 meg DOC millenium plus. But this one does not use it as bios. It has a pretty standard Xpressrom bios.

I'd like to edit the registry on these so I can make it a little more useful for my purposes. Internet surfing machines, for a computer illiterate. It should work ok as is, But I still want to be able to remove some stuff I don't need, and put some on I do.

I can get explorer.exe open but I have to use internet explorer and enter a folder on the system then it opens it. I can edit the registry but some stuff is saved and some stuff isn't.

Can someone help? Here are the ghost files from both units.
e300 ~20meg
e360 ~18meg

They are ghost images of the docs.

I booted in dos and used ghost to make these... So it has the bldr nk.bin .hv files and .mkv files.

How should I have done it?

sorry i didnt see the thread again

nk.bin is the OS, the dumps you posted are valid, contain the nk.bin and nk seems to be a full CE OS etc...

you can edit nk.bin to change your OS. it's just the usual xip format. (see tutorials)
