| Hi all, I recently installed Linux on my j720, but I don't like the idea of using a swap file on a cf card. Is there any way to disable the swap file? | |

| I strongly recommend you do not remove the swap file. Its there for a reason. Bigger applications like minimo and firefox need the extra swap, without it you will have browsers crashing on heavier webpages and other ram related issues. Dont believe the hype.. a swap file will not kill a cf card (not quickly anyway). I've been using a swapfile for over 2 years without any problems.
But if you really want to remove it and have an unstable system this is what you do. Edit /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh and comment out the line that enables the swap file and reboot.
Cheers. | |
