| This applies to Prism based 2 & 2.5 chipsets.
Some of us use the Compaq Wl100 drivers. Stop. Why? Your wep keys are stored in the registry in plain text. That's fine if you never lose or loan your machine.
Some of us use the Linkysys WPC11 CE drivers. Stop. Why? The Linky utility calls mfcce300.dll which causes crashes when runnng non-hexedited MIPS ppc2002 programs (see the Acrobat thread ) which themselves call mfcce300.dll (ppc version ) . Irobertson has the same crashing problem with enterasys drivers. Many other house branded drivers probably cause the same crash.
Use the Prism reference drivers from www.senao.com (1737 release ). That utility doesn't call mfcce300.dll, (no Acrobat crashes ) , your wep keys are hashed in the registry, and you get a nice radio on/off button with the utility.
My work here is done. |

| I'm lost too. After installing the senao drivers, inserting my cf card prompts me for driver name. I use WLANNDS.dll ... then nothing. not a hoot. What's wrong?
I used the one for NL-2511CF Mercury CF Card (802.11b )
EDIT:
Just tried driver for NL-2511CD PC Card (802.11b ) and it works fine. But site_survey turns up nothing although ministumbler is working and I can surf the net.
EDIT:
While these drivers are good et al, it seem to reintroduce the *hang* issue ... so I am reverting back to the Linksys drivers.
If someone comes all the way to where I am to *steal* wifi, I'll give it to him, and on the way, make him a cup of tea! Edited by Snappy! 2005-02-21 8:22 PM

| I think that Wallythacker is the man to ask. I've not seen him around here for a while though.
It was his testing, so I guess he will know best. |

| Heya,
I would like to know,
Where can I download mfcce400.dll?
I've googled a lot and everyone links to http://www.bouncingtiger.com/drivers/mfcce400.zip which directs to a 404 right now.
Are there any other PRISM2 drivers out there?
Thanks a million. Please reply! |
