Not all that hard to believe. I used to work for a company which rented special hospital beds to nursing homes, etc. I would occasionally get called out in the middle of the night to "fix the (*&%&^$# bed and make it stop alarming. It's keeping the other residents awake!"
Many times the problem would be with some other piece of high-tech equipment in the room. They all sound alike in the dark!
OH man, at least you didn't return it. Patience is a virtue!!! I am very glad you figured it out. I could not figure out how your unit could talk w/o a .wav file. That makes me feel a little more at ease
