| We need to know which H/PC model this is before we can advise. |

| It could be the contrast but like CE Geek said, we need to know what hpc you’re using before we can help . Edited by HPCer 2008-06-25 7:28 PM

| Anyway, if your HPC (whatever type) has contrast keys, test for a stuck key.
Otherwise, try hard reset remove all batteries including backup batteries, and put back in the right order:.
First the main batteries, then the backup battery. inserting a backup battery first may leave a system in an unknown state.

| Sounds like a Psion 5mx with a failing screen cable
This may be the vaguest problem ever posted. If it's solved, then can someone help me with my refrigerator? You know, that one in the kitchen? Any ideas what's wrong with it?

| I have successfully cured loose cable problems by "thumping" or "spanking" the handheld lightly. The jolt seemed to reestablish connections. Edited by Hal 2008-06-26 2:26 PM

Good. That makes it easy.
Just adjust the screen to where you can see it and click the hard icon on the top of the column on the right side of your screen. When HP settings comes up click the display profiles tab and then adjust the contrast, that is if the contrast is the problem.
Hope I could help . |

Easiest way is to replace the whole screen. See http://home.freeuk.com/gogmagog/installation_guides/installation_guide_screen_710_720_728.html
I'm not a Jornada user, but in principle, I'd guess that it's not worth it unless you have a cheap donor/parts unit handy (i.e., one with a damaged non-screen part ).
i.e., the price of a new OEM screen is comparable to the worth of the unit.
But, you might get lucky and find a screen from a parted-out carcass on one of those auction sites. They show up every now and then.

| is that really necessary???? because when i turn it on the first time the scree is clear and just fine visible ....only just for a sec and then it gets allmost invisible...
did i do something wrong with the settings or is it real defect? |
