Hello good people!

I recently purchased a Lucent WiFi and Kingston Ehernet card off ebay (http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220260360508 ). True to say that the software that they sent you is mostly stuff that you can get off the net but some is hard to come by and it's all offered in a nice bundle so I'm a happy camper!

I got the WiFi card working with no problem at all but the Kingston Ethernet card is a different animal. I insert it, light turns on on the connector side but I always get an error message from the J720 saying that it could not connect!

No specific driver software came with this. What am I missing???

Hope you guys can help!

It just uses the NE2000 driver that is part of the HPC2000 OS. You shouldn't need to do anything except plug it in...

Thx for the reply Rich.

That actually scares the heck out of me! I was more like expecting a reply saying you needed this or that; now I don't know what to do!

The link light comes on right away and there is an occasional blink of the ACT light but I still get this error message.

Anybody else have any suggestions?
Anybody else have one of these, has had the same problem?

OK found the solution or more like the problem!
Must have gone loco or lack of sleep!
What I was doing makes no sense at all. In a hurry, I was unplugging the cable from the ROUTER and plugging it into the card plug!!! So now my J720 was connected to my PC!
When I realized what a F$%ing dumb thing I was doing, I connected the cable from the card plug to the router box and hey, go figure.... it worked first time!!!
Better get some sleep.

A few years ago, I plugged my r-jack cable into the ethernet slot. It was some time before I got on-line again, and of course, at 56k, I just thought the modem was involved in a very slow hand-shake
