Hello...
first of all sorry for my english!

I have a WebDT 810 Terminal with WinCE.net 4.1 & Internet Explorer 5.5

I need the Terminal to control my House Automation.
I can turn on and off lights with an easy web interface
The Interface is reachable with a normaly web adress and a Port Number (exemble: www.myhouse.com:1234)

The Internet Explorer can open any Webpages. When i enter the Port for the House Web Server the Internet Explorer have a failure:

Server or DNS not found

The Internet Adress and the Port Number are correct (the House Automation works fine with my Mac and my PC with XP)

Can please anybody Help my to solve the Problem?

Thank you!

hmmm,

RDP to a desktop machine??? Esspecially if you can find a cheap and small X86 machine capable of running a basic XP with no monitor or keyboard etc. then the WebDT could sit in RDP mode all the time.

Alternatively I guess ask DT Research if they have a CE .net 4.2 upgrade (which will have IE 6). Just wondered as their website just specifies CE .net and not a version number so they may have changed to 4.2 at some point.

Did you try another browser such as Opera and see if it would run?

firefox doesn't run on CE...

Opera does have versions that will show a screen on CE 4.1 but not sure if there are any X86 CE versions available and it can only browse local files.

Still think RDP to an X86 box is likely going to be only option.

It's likely that it's an X86 cpu rather than CE version of software that is the issue. Most CE apps are complied for ARM or less commonly MIPS but hardly any X86.
