Does anyone know if I can use a broadband access card with my MobilePro 900?? I use HPC 2000 (not .NET). I have a wireless PC card that works great but I was hoping to use a Verizon cellular broadband access card when I travel (which I do frequently) to construction jobsites where wireless networks are few and far between.

BroadbandAccess, meaning EVDO? Then no. All EVDO cards are 32-bit CardBus, which no known HPC supports.

Other options for CDMA internet on HPC2000:
- 1xRTT PCMCIA cards (slow - probably not what you're looking for)
- Access a phone's via infrared (slow again), bluetooth (slowish), or wifi

Another option: a GPRS/3G adapter, like the Nokia D311 (GPRS) or the Sierra AirCard 775 (GPRS/3G), using the SIM card from your cell phone.

BTW, please post a new thread in only one place from now on. See Rule 8 in the Forum Rules:

http://www.hpcfactor.com/info/help/forums/rules/

I've deleted the other identical thread in the H/PC 2000 forum.

CE Geek, those will not work with verizon.

but if OP is willing to switch to GSM, then, he should try sierra 860

Is the 860 known to work with the 900 (H/PC 2000)? (If so, a submission to the HCL might be in order.) The original poster doesn't say which cell phone provider she has - if the Verizon card she has is like the one I've used, it was separate service from my cell phone.

I use an AT&T PCMIA card in a AirLink 101 model AR360W3G router.
You put the PCMIA card in the router's slot
Connect to a PC via LAN
Setup the info for the log into- WAP@CINULARGPRS.COM
Setup the built-in WIFI
After initial setup you can take the router anywhere you go. I use mine to make my pickup truck a moblile WIFI hotspot.

BTW, after the initial setup you do not need a PC to run the router. It will auto connect to the broadband when powered on. I've used it with all my HPC's and pocket PC units.

I got the AirLink at Fry's.

I need to submit a form to the HCL reporting the 860 card working in CE 4.2 .net. I'm posting this from my Netbook Pro, using 3G via the 860, while riding a bus to Vegas.
