| I would like to conserve Battery life when the unit is not in use or in an idle state, what tips can anyone offer me please?

| Disable all alarms.
Remove Wireless Cards.
Remove CF/SD cards.
That's all I can think of.... or just keep it plugged in using your AC adapter whenever not in use.

| no need for removing memory cards! they consume almost nothing, especially when the machine is turned off.
i don't think wlan cards draw power either if the hpc is turned off. but still it isn't a bad idea.
anyway, you don't really need to worry about battery when the 680 is turned off... | |

| oh if you want a continuous connection to the desktop via rdp then all you can do is turning off the display. though the 680 will do it on its own after some minutes. | |
