| I have a new Jornada 720 and I’m having some difficulty getting connected to the internet.
I use Demon as my ISP here in the UK and I have gone through the process of configuring the machine via the wizard and the machine dials up Demon well enough and takes me all the way through to the point at which it tells me on the HP dialup window that I am ‘Connected’. However, when I wait for a few more seconds, about 30seconds the machine promptly drops the connection with a pop up window stating: ‘Disconnected’. This happens whether I launch Internet Explorer or Outlook to download my E Mails.
I’m guessing it’s something dead simple that I’m overlooking But I can’t discover what it is.
Any advice or suggestions/solutions gratefully received.

| Generally I tell people to avoid hp Dial-up.
Start > Programs > Communications > Remote Networking
I recommend you start the wizard in here and set it against up to date settings info from demon. You could go over the settings on the one created by dial-up though if necessary.
Pay particular attention to the phone number & pri/sec dns settings. | |
