790 with 3CRWE737A-E1

Right folks, I have marc.knuckles MP 790. It seems someone bought it off him, after he sold on eBay, hasnt got the wifi working either and put back on eBay with even a very similar item description.

I've decided enough, am gonna pimp this thing out and get it working! (or save the 790 ROM, until an 880 pops up)

Its my first time using an NEC, I have a J720 (which i started using again after found the power adapter!) and a pristine J820 with battery that doesnt know what a charge means..

I quite like the 790 form factor, theres something distinctively Japanese about the construction which I like..

Anyway wifi on this 790

Basically, the AirConnect settings come up with a Lan Service Area and theres no way to unset the ESS to an BSS> I think this is where the problem lies. Any ideas people?
