I've got a Compaq Aero 8000 that got hard resetted and now asks for driver for my Sandisk 1 GB cf card. Other HPC's I have still recognized it even after a hard reset. What could the problem be?

If specifying atadisk.dll doesn't work, try a hard reset again.

And if that doesn't work, look at the pins in your CF slot and make sure they are not damaged...

Tried the atadisk.dll, but didn't work. Tried the hard reset, and it worked like a charm. Thanks!

It happens. The startup routine has been observed to corrupt things from time to time. I've no idea why, and don't like suggesting hard resets as a solution, however, if it fixes it.
