I've searched the forums, but I haven't come up with a definitive answer to ease my mind.

Is the backup battery in a MobilePro 780 a replaceable "button" battery accessible to the user somehow, or if not, when it dies (which I'm sure it will someday), do I throw this device away?

So far I've not seen any sign of failure, but since I bought this unit used, I have no way of knowing how many miles are on the clock.

Thanks,

Kirk Messinger

It is a rechargeable 3V coin type battery, but not easily replaced. You can put a standard LION battery in its place and it will run fine until the battery depletes itself in about a years time I'm told.

Read about it, and see it here: http://hpcnec.com/7x0assembly.htm

Thanks, Rich.

It looks doable, even by an old geezer like me.

At least it's not an I-Pod.
