Hello,

Is there an official cdrom (or url/ftp to flashgot / wget it ) where everything (freeware and working (no single $$)) works for the jornada 720, a cdrom full of cabs and apps for our mini PC ?

Thanks for the hint and links

No need for windows xp, those are all win CE executables and cabs. Just download and run them on your jornada.

Cheers.

If you click on Search in the navigation bar, you can search by (among other fields) Processor Type, Windows CE Version, and License type.

I have no ideas unfortunately
All I know is this : http://freeshells.ch/~wicked74/j720/images/redgear/redgear-tomtom.jpg

And as always, we'll fight with drivers, installation, ... things not working why it isnt like linux, with beautiful forums & wiki's ... Luckily amie and cmonex are there for their great and wonderful help !!!

TomTom 6 (the only version for sale) is compatible with RedGear. There is no need to "fight" with anything. That is what RedGear is designed to solve. It can't solve everything just yet, as a lot of programming work is still required to bridge the decade code gap.

And why isn't it like Linux? Well, a couple reasons:
1) Both the OS and a lot of the software is not open source, so many times it's hard to even know what the problem is.
2) This community is minuscule compared the Linux community, and the amount of help and knowledge available is accordingly smaller. (Although I should note that HPC:Factor is an unusually high caliber resource for a community of this size.)
