Has anyone used mobilecustom on their Sig3 recently?

With success?

I've just done a hard reset, reinstall of 409C, gemini PIMS... And am now going to mobilecustom. Something ticks away as if data is being downloaded, but there's no list of categories in the catalog, and nothing to install.

No data is placed in Download Data at all, either.

Any clues, anyone? I'm connecting via activesync and that's working perfectly (I can browse the web via IE or picsel)

Cheers,
nick.

maybe NTT killed their server?

I got the entire thing downloaded and backed up back in 2005, in 2 ways, once by copying all the relevant folders to somewhere safe(r than a RAM based ce device), and once by downloading all the stuff and then backing up sig3 itself.

also I got the CAB's for the more important updates (stupid trick needed - start installation of the .mcu file, install it, then do a reinstall and when it asks for confirmation, you will find the entire CAB in temp waiting to continue. the CAB will not be intact later, you only have part of it left when installation already started - this is important.)

anyway, what would you like from mobilecustom, which updates?

I'm considering taking all these backups and cabs and putting them on sig3 page on my site

I tried downloading a different screensaver the other day too using mobilecustom, and didn't have any luck. It was working fine for me a few months back. So I can confirm that chiark is not the only person having this problem.

Cmonex - that would great if you could put the mobilecustom files on your website.

Thanks,

Mike

The updates would be great, yes please . At least it's not just me being daft - I even tried without the English MUI just in case... No joy.

OK - i will locate the files and put them online soon.

but as it's a lot with my slow upload and most of it is just japanese cr*p, could you tell me exactly which updates you really want? so i can upload those first

PS: MUI is not a problem for sure

Well, the essential ones, the backgrounds (some are quite nice)... And, er, that's about it
Thanks!

Same for me. The backgrounds would be a good place to start. Thanks!

I have also tried to access mobilecustom recently, but without success.
Found a page on the ntt site in japanese, but translated with babelfish it appears sig3 and mobilecustom is no longer supported subce october 1, 2008 or something like that.
I maybe wrong.

cmonex - some of the apps, they hosted could also be quite usefull (sheetce and few others).
