I got a used netbook pro. I tried to use wireless on it. I have a Agere-wireless CF card and Microsoft MN-520 PCMCIA wireless card. I tried both and they can both discover my home wireless network. But when I tried to make it connect, they will connect and disconnect right away. Even I put netbook pro next to my wireless router.

Any one know what's wrong? Do I need atenna? Or something wrong with my netbook pro?

What kind of encryption is your router using and how is it set up?

Take the encryption off for 10 min and try without.

I seem to remember when using WEP and Smartbook there was somthing funny if I used the passkey in router and CE they both came up with slightly diffrent keys.

I know it is a pain but you could try writing down the whole 128bit key string that is created from passkey in router and enter tho whole string manually in netbook and see if that sorts it.

Cheers

John
