As noted in my previous posting, I picked up a MobilePro 780 in order to scratch the itch of wanting a new toy to tinker with. The unit I purchased came with two untested units as "surplus".
The main unit is in great condition.
To my surprise, both extra units powered on and screen worked when tested
(it was indicated in the auction that neither screen worked
).
Had they been bad units, I had planned on utilizing one of the shells for a cosmetic
(paint
) mod to the main unit.
I cannot in good concscience sacrifice "usable" hardware though
(just ask the guy who bought that Apple //e I rescued last year
).
So, here they are for sale. Priced to move. Note that 90% of what is wrong with unit one is fine on unit two. Someone who knows how to work on these things can have a full unit w/ surplus at a bargain price

Unit #1
(comes w/ untested battery and stylus

This one is mainly intact. Issues are:
- missing two rubber feet'
- locking mechanism doesn't seem to work every time when the unit is shut
- Left hinge is loose/broken
- lots of scuffs scratches
Unit #2
(comes w/ untested battery and NO stylus

Issues are:
- Base has large crack/gouge on front right corner
- Missing rubber feet
- Missing RAM/ROM door
(RAM/ROM are intact
)
- Screen has scratch down the left side
