| The keyboard has stopped working on my xsl. At first, I could tap the icon several times and finally it would come to life. Now, it has stopped functioning completely. I have attempted relaoding the backup files, and performing a hard start, to no avail. Is there a registry function I can check to see if the driver is loaded? Any help would be appreciated.

| AFAIK, you are the first known member who has a XSL. I only have a SL that still works with on-screen keyboard AND serial one.

| That's the problem with being a "first"! The xsl is a great machine, with the exception of the keyboard problem. I orignially thought it was a software problem, so I brought it back to the original position, but that did not help.

| Can you flash the OS? A serial or USB keyboard may be another solution?

| Not sure about flashing the OS. I've placed the unit back to its original, from the factory settings, but no luck with the keyboard. The virtual kb will surface at times (when filling in a blank etc.) but not if you try and call it up on its own. I'm sure the usb will work, however, that entails carrying around the base. I'm not sure about the sl, but there are no input areas other than the PCMCIA, SD, and Storage card. There are headphone and power jacks, but to go any further, you have to have it in its base.

| For SL, we just need to press the power button QUICKLY to enable/disable the soft keyboard. |

Leaves one to wonder why Hoyt-Wessel gives the low-down on the machines but not a pdf owner's manual.

| I guess you have not gone thru the manual yet. Anyway, I'm glad you now know the tip. |

| That is part of the problem, no manual. |

| Well, I have the manual for XSL in pdf (101 pages, produced on 3/3/2006). I found the link somewhere on Skeye's forum long ago.

| I found the link to download the XL version, but it's in Dutch. Could I gently persuade you to send me a copy of your download? (www.bayoulagniappe@bellsouth.net)

| Well, the email address you provided is wrong. You can PM me to avoid exposing it to the general public. |

| Might be a good idea to upload the XSL image to your site - never know when it may come in handy again. |
