The only ports of popular games that I know of to the HPC are doom and heretic. Though you could get vnc and run it on your computer and play in the back yard with your HPC. :-)

There's ScummVM (www.scummvm.org), but unfortunately it runs very very slowly on my Izzi Pro.

Sorry about that, apparantly PocketGear sells a port of Age of Empires for the hpc. You can find more information about it here http://www.cewindows.net/reviews/games/agesofempires.htm

There is a setting to change the orientation, alas while you gain the control area, you loose the map and access back to the settings. The only way to get back to the map / settings area is to exit and delete the config file. This is the "other side" of the screen.

I tried it with nyditot, and it refused to load with anything other than the default screen config. I didn't try changing the res, just the orientation - with a 10 meg CAB! in a RAM install for the app, and nyditot, along with everything else I had about 20KB free.
She's a big puppy blown up!

Lol great review. But if it opens, I bet we could tweak a registry setting or something to get it running. I would definitely be happy with another game for my hpc, all I have is doom.

Screen rotation isn't as simple as a registry setting. It needs to interface and remap the display driver.

I'll try nyditot again with a resoloution change instead of orientation.
The problem, incidentally with the game was with GAPI not mounting properly, rather than AOE.
Any long term GAPI Nyditot users encountered this before?

On this site http://www.pc-counselor.com/j720.htm , a little down the page it says run Realone runs on Jornada 720 and a Real Solution for GAPI in the 720's. There it has a link to an updated gx.dll and another gl dll in a zip file. The link to it I'll post here too:
http://mono.eurosoft.od.ua/wince/files/gl720.zip

-Care to give that a try?

RealONE Player works very nice on my HP Jornada 720. The quality of the audio/video is excellent... In other words, you can see your favorites radio and TV channels in you H/PC

To get work this, you will need download OpenGL720 or WinCESoft GAPI gx.dll. If you are a registered member of our forum, you will find more info, images and downloads about RealONE for Handheld PC http://www.todopocketpc.com/analisis_ver_articulo.asp?id_articulo=117&offset=3 http://www.todopocketpc.com/foro/showpost.php?p=85277&postcount=5

Best Regards,
