Hi,

funny thing here.. there are a number of computers in my home network, two of which are on a fixed IP. I can ping both IPs from my NBP but I can only access one of them using Explorer by typing in \\blackbox. The other machine is named epia-m but I can't get to it from the Netbook. Both PCs are running Windows XP and they can share files between each other just fine. Any ideas?

Thanks,
SainT

yeah... CE cant use IP. you need to use computer name.

Open command prompt and type - net use * \\computername\share

Once you have typed this in explorer go into the network folder and you should see the drive. It will pop up and ask for user pass and domain at some point in the process.

Hope this helps

John

Doesn't work. CE does not support using the IP must be computer name.

As I said, it works when I type in the name of the first machine but doesn't work when I type in the name of the second machine. Maybe it has a problem with '-' in the name of the machine. I'll change it and see if it helps.

Nope, still doesn't work...

Har har, problem solved. A long time ago I setup a firewall on the Epia machine only to accept connections from certain IPs Works like a charm now
