Hi,
I'd like to take another handheld but I got a big doubt.

Which, you experts, advise between Sigmarion III, Psion Netbook and Smartbook G138 ?
I let out Intermec 6651 because of its MIPS processor.

I like a versatile one and not too big.

Hands-down, from what I've read, the G138 is the toy to own! Wish I could afford one....

If you want video and audio to be high on list Sig3 is the one to own.

Less portability with good keyboard and screen size then G138, Netbook Pro, or 900c

You say not too big so guess Sig3 is really the only choice if you dont want to drop to HPC2000

John

PS but as C:aime says if you tell us what you require and most important attributes we can give a more informed recommendation.

Getting closer. Picked up the black smartbook for £55 on ebay.

Let's say, I use it for writing and that is the more complex program I need to use but I'd like more legibility on internet pages.

Jornada 720 is very useful when travelling due to its small size but I found that on work it is better have a large one. Nowdays I am using NEC900c because not so big but after a while its half-size screen is very annoying.

So I was looking for a handheld with slightly bigger screen to have best view on internet and reading and also with more advanced hardware like NEC900c.

So you say Sig3 it's the best choice for size and hardware than Smartbook G138?

I can't find a review on Sigmarion III.

Nobody has mentioned Psion, it is to big?

Moreover, whre one can find this model since there is no clue on ebay?

The Netbook Pro is larger than the others. Pretty good for browsing but not particularly good for multimedia.

Well then

If it is for writing I would say 900c then Smartbook or netbook pro. Smartbook and 900c are comparable to intermec in size, netbook pro is a bit bigger.

For web quality and speed I have to say Smartbook G138 is top very closely followed by netbook and the 900c last.

Browsing is not bad on the Sig 3 either, though it does struggle a bit with some sites.

It doesnt really fit with his requirement for slightly bigger screen though. I found web too slow on Sig3 but I guess it is fine for some. Loved the Sig3 form factor and Video/Audio quality but found screen to small for extended writing and as mentioned web too slow.

I am looking, as I said, a screen a bit bigger than 900c but same hardware. Does Smartbook G138 meets this requirements?
Indeed, I like its embedded sim slot for connection.

Netbook seems to have a really big screen, so it lacks in portability, am I wrong?

Spot on... Netbook is less portable.

Hmmm hardware is a little diffrent. Screen is better being a TFT and is 7" 800x480. It has GPRS and 10/100 onboard + a vga out. However only a single CF slot (so cant use cf card and wi-fi at same time. However ram is 97Mb available and with custom rom on it's way a lot of software should be included in rom making need for CF storage at same time as wi-fi a bit less. The smartbook only has a 206mhz strongarm but is the fastest HPC for web browsing and the GUI is very fast.

So I would say hardware is not comparable but smartbook and 900c both have plus points.

I saw some videos on these handhelds....

Smartbook is indeed good (yeah, it is 206 Mhz) but has a bigger screen than 900.

But I have seen also Sigmarion 3...and I'll say it is not bad...it has a lot of pros and wide screen.

Now the point is where to find one of them?
I see no light in the tunnel!!!

ebay is usually the best place to find these. though you may need to wait a few weeks for one to turn up.
