I have been somewhat interested in buying one of these two CE 5.0 devices, but I cant find anything about software compatibility. I dont know wheter it is compatible with old CE apps (2.x/3.x) or if its 5.0-apps only (which I cant find any at all), or even if its even totally impossible to install anything on them ... Please, help me straighten this out and I'd be very very happy !

The first one is identical to the 3K RazorBook 400 CE, which is available for about $150 new from other sources. I have one, and I like its features, but I'm having troubles getting it to work properly.

As for backwards compatibility, most ARM versions of programs written for CE 4.x .net, CE 3.0, and even CE 2.11 should work. (I was able to run several CE 4.x .net and CE 3 programs on mine before it crashed. )

Nice, thank you ...

... But then it should be a whole different story on the second one !?

EDIT:

Besides I cant understand why they have to do it so CPU-dependent !

Because each processor executes processes very differently from one another.

I haven't heard from anyone who's used the second one, so I'm afraid I can't be much help there.
