| Hi everybody,
I would like to trade my hardly used Psion 5mx (in excellent condition, hardly a mark on it ) for a HP Jornada 720 or 728 which should also be in nice shape.
The Psion comes with it's original manual, stylus and a very nice heavy duty leather case. I also have a CD-Rom with all the Psion software...
It would be great if the Jornada has a battery that holds a good charge (or a extended battery would be even better )
If anybody is interested in a new toy to trade for a new toy, contact me...
Greetings
Herbert
PS: I'm from Calgary, Canada. I would like this to be a square trade, we both pay our own shipping. |

| I'm might consider a nice NEC Mobilepro 900 or 900c as well... |

| Would you take a new in box Viewsonic Airpanel 100? I can offer either WinCE 3.0 or 4.1. You can find out more here:

Shipping weight on this is close to 10 lbs, though. |

| Hi there,
thanks for the offer, but I definitively need something with a keyboard as I write a lot. I'm looking for a Jornada 720/728 or a Mobilepro 900.
Greetings

| The netbook is a bit big for what I want. The Mobilepro is as big as I want to go. Do you have a MobilePro 900/c for trade? |

| I'd jump on this with my 720 in a minute if I weren't using it for RedGear testing. |

| Sell the 5mx on ebay... In that condition etc. you will likely get enough to buy 2 or 3 J720's |

| Hi mr-mac,
that's exactly what I have done. I have some bidders already so the machine is no longer up for trade.
I will just buy a Jornada or Mobilepro from the money from the 5mx

There are a lot of reasons, the main ones being the quality of the OS and the apps, the keyboard (best small keyboard ever, too bad WinCE OS2.0 machines of the same era never adopted it ) and the fact it runs on AA batteries.
There is quite a following of Psion users out there... myself included.

| I guess it's similar reasons the good old 200lx holds its value. 20 hours running time on a set of AA batteries and a great keyboard. And then there is the backlight that the 200lx is missing. Also EPOC is a rock stable operating system.

| To this day, the Psion word processor still amazes me with its capabilities. I use the Mako/Revo as my main PIM, since it's the smallest form factor with genuine word processor. But the hardware is tricky--large but murky screen on the 5mx with a timebomb of a failing screen cable; the Mako/Revo has inevitable battery problems.
I was certainly tempted to swap a J for your 5mx, but the screen cable made me pause. Anything chronic in handhelds ALWAYS happens to mine. There's a law somewhere that dooms my machines

The screen has never bothered me - it's similiar to my MobilePro 700 (and I love that computer ). As for the screen cable, yes, I know. I just had mine replaced about a month ago (expensive, but there's a guy in Toronto that does them ).
I guess you just have to remember that a lot of these computers had one problem or another...that's why you always need a backup machine...
