Jornada 720 v. Mobilepro 790

been looking at the 790s recently and i'm curious is there some obvious reason as to why they cost so much less than the jornada 720s? from what i can tell they both use wince pro and have the same amount of memory. the only thing i can really see as being a big diff is the mips chip on the 790. is there alot less software available for the mips chip or something? thanks for your input

In a word - yes.

I suspect that battery life and pocketable size (in a coat pocket at least) are also factors that make the 720 more desirable.

But beware, people with larger fingers will have a much harder time touch-typing on a j720 than a mobilepro. That's one of the disadvantages to being more pocketable.

I can attest to the lack of software for the MP 790.......one of the frustrating things is watching developments like Redgear and jlime and not being able to enjoy them..
But, the keyboard on the 790 is very good, I like the software I am able to use on it, and even my kids haven't been able to destroy it yet.

so just get a 900 if you want the jornada 720's advantages and good keyboard (4400mAh battery will help with batt life )

Not till the 790 dies.....I already have enough handhelds laying around.
