I am looking for a chess program for HPC2000 I have tried the SYNCTEL PALM CHESS demo which works well
but it seems imposible to buy a copy, Handangos link does not work.
Are there any more chess programs out there I am new to chess so need more than just a board
some hints on moves would be nice.

PocketChess is really nice as well: http://www.scottlu.com/Content/PocketChess.html

Palmgear.com will allow you to purchase PalmChess as will Tucows here: http://store.handango.com/tucows/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=166&jid=62X7FBF165E57X2B6176A38EA2A2CFCA&platformId=3&productType=2&topSectionId=3344&productId=18241§ionId=3344&catalog=10

There is also a nice chess game in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack for Handheld PCs

Chessbase.com's Pocket Fritz (first or second edition) will work in H/PC 2000 with aygshell.dll, the Pocket PC version of mfcce300.dll, and doclist.dll added. Richard Lang's Chess Genius should also work with just aygshell.dll added. (Put those in the same folder with the chess program, not in \Windows.) The DLLs can be found on cmonex' site:

http://www.hpcmonex.net/izemize.htm

If you're not familiar with using these DLLs, isotherm's RedGear can do the work for you:

There are lots of other ppc chess games that will work as well, but I like to stick with those made for HPC 2000 myself...besides, we should support the HPC author's...shouldn't we?

True, but I was also taking playing strength into account. Pocket Fritz is about the strongest chess program compatible with Windows CE devices - about USCF master level.

Glad I didn't play that one...I'm still trying to graduate the 6th grade, and finally figured out my gozintos.
