Hi guys.

Converted some cd's to mp3 format and copied them onto my storage card.
For some reason the installed Windows Media Player doesn't seem to want to play them........any idea why??
I thought as long as it was mp3, it would play.

Not quite. WMP 1.2 is a bit picky about bitrates. TCPMP isn't nearly as picky. If you want to play it in WMP, you may have to use a converter like DVD Catalyst to adjust the bitrate to something that WMP can handle.

Hmmmm.......okay.

I have already set up TCPMP and it plays my vids okay, albeit with a slight blur but watchable, so I'll try playing the mp3's on that.
If I still get get problems I'll convert using DVD catalyst as I have that also.
What bitrate would be best for the installed WMP??

DVD Catalyst will give you the correct bitrate setting automatically when you choose the H/PC settings. (It'll set it to 64 Kbps, though 128 may work as well. Generally WMP can handle 32, 64, 96, or 128 Kbps.)

Patrick brings up another point: there are several alternative MP3 players for H/PC 2000. GSPlayer and WinamPAQ also have H/PC 2000 versions, and both are free as well.

This is what I do. Copy music from CD in WM player , go to Music folder and copy them to compact flash card, usb or other media.

That is it.
