i think 12v DC 1.5amp is enough, but it won't charge the batt unless the HPC is off.

12v 6amp is overkill though...

well you can throw 6 A at it no problem. the dreamwriter will use only as much as it needs, it is not like voltage.

i would be surprised if the dreamwriter consumed 1 A, so it should be able to charge the batt even if the unit is on. i can see why it can't if the charger is only 500 mA.. but 1,5 A is plenty

So (stating what is probably REALLY the obvious), what you're doing is charging up the battery with the Radio Shack adapter and running the Dreamwriter off battery?

What battery pack are you using and how much usage time are you getting out of it before you need to recharge?

I have the adapter head, by the way. Bought it at Radio Shack over the weekend, and that's how I'm plugged into the 6 amp 12vdc supply.

Thanks!

Yes, Sorry It has took so long to reply... A few computer problems... normal battery in the IT, I have used it around 6 full hrs after a full charge up, but never used more. The meter always said 40% So I assume about 10-11hrs with full charge.
