Outlook and Netbook Pro

Assuming one has Pocket On-Schedule and have been syncing with WinXP computer
; I use Activesync V4.5. By using a mobile 2003 program, my Netbook Pro
syncs perfectly w/ Outlook 2002

After struggling with a lack of syncing w/ Outlook, I came across this item:

“Microsoft’s Windows CE .NET 4.2. This is the same OS that forms the core of Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC,
and is Microsoft’s base embedded platform for small-footprint devices.”
http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/notebooks/0,1000000333,39116901,00.htm

So I searched for a Windows Mobile 2003 syncing program, and found one! It is called:
BCMV2PPC.exe., a 604k program under a Microsoft download menu:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=f3bc2918-c310-4599-81d1-558cf385ed88&displayLang=en

This works flawlessly!

You are right bu Netbook Pro has Pocket OnSchedule.
Your site, while great, has this disclaimer:
"You must have a purchased license to install any of the updates". What I am
saying is that MS site has a freebie program that integrates with CE 4.2
to allow Outlook 2002 to sync with the Netbook Pro.

I think what propi is trying to say is that syncing outlook with the system database (not the pocket on-schedule one) will be useless unless you specifically install and use a third party application on the NBP (such as CE Agenda or some Windows Mobile contact/calendar software) that actually reads/writes from/to the standard system database. IMHO CE Agenda is pretty decent if you want to use the standard database and want a calendar application that's designed for Windows CE core (and HPC for that matter) devices. Even the Pocket Agenda for WM2003 works well on my NBP, and the author recently told me that an english version of it is in the works.

Without CE Agenda or similar WM software, when you sync outlook with the standard system database, you will not see any contacts/calendars from the desktop in pocket on-schedule (and vice versa) because pocket on-schedule uses a standalone (pocket access) database separate from the standard system database.

EDIT: NBP owners have access to a free license from Psion Teklogix for the outlook sync for pocket on-schedule. Once you register at their site and login, you can go to the downloads section and download the "Pocket OnSchedule synchronization application." This will allow you to sync between Outlook (2000 and newer) with Pocket On-Schedule on your NBP and vice versa.

So is there a way one can export the Outlook PIM data to the Pocket On-Schedule CDB file (so that it doesn't have to be re-entered manually one by one), for those of us with POS on a different device? (My ViewSonic ViewPad 100 - and Airpanel 100 with CE 3.0 - have POS pre-installed as well.)

There aren't any existing solutions that I'm aware of. I've left Pocket On-Schedule behind for now and am using CEAgenda which uses the native Outlook DB.

Okay, I see how it works now. The Outlook sync update propi linked above works as a standalone sync utility on the PC. Outlook data are synched into the device's POS database file using the POS Outlook sync program (rather than through ActiveSync) on the PC while the device is connected. I've now successfully synched my PIM data to POS on my ViewPad.
