looking for a program or reg edit to have more control over how dim the screen gets on my fujitsu ct2020. it has time out mode and 4 levels of brightness already in control panel, but it's still too bright on the lowest setting at night. wondering if there is any way or program to make it dimmer?
Most CCFLs have a minimal energy level that it takes to activate the light at all...and they cannot get any dimmer. Any less energy and the tube stays completely dark. The minimal excitation level will cause the tube to turn on. Adding voltage will increase that level of intensity to a point...but at a certain point, further increasing voltage does't increase light output as the electrical saturation of energy by the chemicals within the tube are already maximized.
Some of the newer LCDs with LED technology have greater variances in levels of brightness/dimness....but you won't find them in our HPCs.
You can try editing the values in the registry and see what happens....normally when the auto-dim kicks in, that takes it to the lowest level possible...
