Hi All,

I have been running Opera 8.65 on my Jornada 728 for a while now using RegGear (both paid for )

I don't seem to be able to install Redgear (not surprising I guess), Opera will install but on runni9ng pops up an empty error dialog box.

Has anyone been able to get Opera to run on WinCE5 ??

TIA

This must first run messages, try to press enter or escape on any such dialog.

Yeah, tried that. Dialog disappears and Opera doesn't start.

Wonder if I'm missing any dll's?

Hmmm ... I am connected to the Internet via wifi (can surf using IE and pick up email). If that's not what you meant how do I check? Doesn't seem to be a way to inspect which processes are running...

BTW thanks for taking the time to help

It may actually be easier to get Opera 9.7 Beta to work on CE 5, if you have the proper DLL's like cellcore, etc. Opera 8.65 has a lot of logic aimed at copy protection, which can prevent it from starting at all.

I've been curious about trying the latest Opera on CE 6, but I'd be up a creek without a paddle because execheck doesn't work on CE 6

Aaah well, it's immaterial now ... my little Disgo netbook died today after 4 long days of service ;-) (refused to power up)

Cheap, shoddy made rubbish :-( HMV took it back and gave me a refund no questions asked ... time to get the Jornada 728 (old faithful) back out of the cupbard and back to work
