Hello All:
this is my 1st time to post a new messgae here!

I met a seriously problem :

we will find many CHK files when i reboot my device by cool way.

such as: FILE0001.CHK FILE0002.CHK FILE0003.CHK .....
----
my platform i:
OS :CE5.0
storage device : Nandflash
file system: FAT

---
i had search for my problem at google.com . I get this:

/
Lost clusters are clusters that are marked as being used in the FAT tables but are not linked to any directory entries. This problem is often found after a system crash, when there are data clusters chained out of free space but where there is no directory entry pointing to the cluster chain thus formed. Such files were typically opened for writing at the time the system crashed, restarted, or was switched off.

--

how to make these files disappear when coled reboot my device ?

thanks

from msdn:
When power loss occurs, an application handles any partially committed files. Anytime WriteFile or CloseHandle is called, the FAT volume is committed. This action may cause a file that is spanning multiple sectors or clusters to be partially committed if power is lost. To address this issue, an application can implement its own application-based transaction.

how to do it?
" an application can implement its own application-based transaction."

They were probablly created by your desktop if you booted your machine with the card inserted. I don't think CE recovers lost sectors with a .chk extension. Heck, it doesn't even have scandisk.

Yes it does, it's part of the filesystem driver for FAT volumes. It'll run if it thinks that there is a file system error.
