Hi,
this question regard WM 6.1 but it can even regard any release of Windows CE.
I used to have an ETEN Glofiish M810 with software perinstalled on it. It had some software that I wanted on my new Samsung Omnia but cab file seems to have a check that says me I am trying to install it on non ETEN device.
So question is, is there a hack to bypass this check an install the cab on other device rather than ETEN?
One method is to use something like MSCEInf to extract the cab (while keeping the directory structure intact) and just copy it over to a storage card and run it from there. That's assuming however that any of the possible registry entries shown in MSCEInf after opening the CAB are not essential for the program to have for the first startup. I've found most software will generate it on its own if it needs to though.
