netbook problems

hi i have a disgo 3000 netbook i have now got it to connect with my wireless router but have to be sat next to the router for the internet to work if i move away the internet stops working and says local intranet in bottom corner but it is still connected to the router with a excelent connection any ideas thanks

Try changing the channel. The default in the US is Ch. 6 which is commonly used by other household devices (i.e., you might be getting some intereference).
