HANDHELD PEN SCANNERS

Has anybody got any experince of using handheld text scanners with an hpc2000 mips device

Not me, but I'd love to see one. Back when I was doing heavy library research for my Master's thesis, I looked into portable scanning to avoid having to make a zillion copies of excerts. But the time took so long, I ended up just taking a photo using my digital camera. That was faster and worked just as well...

But a scanner with OCR capability would have been nice though I imagine it would be too time consuming.

Is there really such a thing as a CE-compatible document scanner? That was one thing I was dreaming about when I posted this thread:

Looks neat, but I'm missing the part about it really being PocketPC compatible except in the advertising text. If you look at the system requirements, it looks like only PC/Mac OS's and hardware are specified.

I would look at the wizcom brand in general, seems they have a couple that actully are compatible with pda's

I have now purchased a Wizcom Quicklink Scanner of ebay(minus cable) cheap and a copy of Peacemaker Pro.
The scanner works perfectly and sends files by infrared to the HPC with no problems.
I then tried to send files also by infrared to the Wizcom desktop program using an infrared dongle (running on Windows 7) no sucess so I will have to buy the connection cable.
However what I did find using Peasemaker pro I can send and recieve files from the HPC to my WINDOWS7 (32Bit) desktop using the Windows 7
infrared file transfer program built in to Windows 7 !!! GOOD NEWS
