It is a .NET program. Did you try installing the .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3 redistributable?

Pocket e-Sword requires that the .NET Compact Framework 1.0 be installed in order to work. (RedGear won't work as a substitute for .NET CF.) You can download the .NET CF 1.0 here, in H/PC:Update. (BTW, as I pointed out in the thread on .NET CF in CE 2.xx, Pocket e-Sword may also work in CE 2.xx devices with the .NET CF 1.0 installed.)

I tried to run Pocket e-Sword version 3.01, 3.10 & 3.20 on my Viewsonic V212 with the default .NET CF 1.0 but each time, it will throw up an exception error message with the follow information:

Module: Pocket e-Sword.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005
Address: 023D10E4

Does anyone know what it means?
The error window suggests that there has been an illegal operation leading to the termination of the program.
Please advise me if you know anything.
Thanks!
