Got a SIMPAD and upgraded to ce.net 4.1.
Installed Acrobat reader 1.0 & 2.0 for reading some PDF documents.
They both work, but...
after sometime, a couple of suspend & wakeup, the whole tablet freezes
the moment I turn it on again.

Really should have tried the reader on the original HPC 2000.

Do you guys have the same problem?
If no, I'll need to reflash HPC 2000.

Thank you!

Thank you for this info.

Acrobat reader (1.0 & 2.0) both die while re-drawing the screen (line by line) when I wake it up.
Primer 2.3, coming with the rom, does not re-draw the screen in the way acrobat reader does.
But some PDF docs are a mess in primer 2.3.

I guess I'll have to reflash back to HPC 2000.

I have little problem with primer2.3 which came with the ROM4.1. Not sure what issues you are facing with primer 2.3 though. Guess if your primary usage of SL4 is to view pdf files, then you may want to reflash back to HPC2k.

Did you install acrobat from this site, or get it elsewhere?

To bad you don't have Primer 3.1, it works flawlessly on my HP 720 & MP 900.

C:Amie,

I used Acrobat reader 1.0 from an installation on a PPC 2002.
I just copied the file over to Simpad and got some fake-dlls under the same dir.

Then I hex edited Acrobat reader 2.0 and got it to work too on Simpad (ce.net 4.1).

They both have the same problem:
After a little while, the tablet will freeze.

This is probably I did not use the correct fake-dll.

Hurricane John,

I tried primer 3.1 and found that it does not show certain
PDF files right. And I hate its page-by-page way.
I'll stick with Acrobat.

I've never encountered a problem where Primer 3.1 hasn't displayed the PDF files correctly, but it might just be a matter of making some adjustments in the options menu. But it's pretty much moot point, since you hate its page-by-page way and are sticking with Acrobat.

Anyway - enjoy the soft resets
