I've just bought a 300MHZ VIA VT8505 based Windows CE 6.0 Netbook on eBay, from one of the many sellers in China*.

I assume that this will be able to connect fairly easily to a share on a Windows 7 PC, but what about a SAMBA server - is this possible?

* BTW, there is no entry for such a generic device in "Your Settings | Your Handheld Handheld [sic] PC Information"

Yeap, it is possible. There is SAMBA server included in Platform Builder. I will try to extract and pack it.

Sorry, what I meant was, can the device connect TO a SAMBA (2.0) server?

There is a SAMBA 2.0 server in my wireless router, and it seems to ideal place to store the shared documents.

Well spotted on the double handheld, you're the first to report it.

Sorry, got the meaning wrong.

Yeap, it is possible. SAMBA servers are accessible from standart explorer or any other one, and like in desktop windows with path //%machine%/.

@Alt Bass

No, it was my question that was ambiguous. Thank you for the info.

@C:Amie

I used to do proof-reading for the Open University, it's hard to turn off sometimes. If only it worked with stuff that I wrote
