| supposedly has capacity of 2 GB, on the actual 'system' info it says processor type: AKARM, ARM926-AKCHIP, memory: 55 MB RAM, windows CE 5.00 (build 1400) 2004 microsoft corp. is it possible to format it, then apply the OS slax or something else from the ubuntu/linux family? | |

| Yes and no. Firstly you have an ARM processor, so the likes of SLAX or any x86 distro will not work. "Any" device can run linux/bsd. The hard part is figuring out the bootloader and building a kernel specifically for the device.
After saying that, your machine does not yet currently have any available linux distros to use. Currently only the Ingenic MIPS netbooks (alpha400/cnmbook/trendtac/elonex onet, etc), the VT8500 and VT8505 ARM netbooks and a few others have android or debian or custom linux's available for them.
I'm sure in time all these devices will eventually be hacked to run linux/bsd. Just takes time and hackers/developers.
Cheers. | |
