I've always regretted not getting a PCMCIA VGA card for the 620LX (back in the 1990s) and over the years, have never seen them for sale *anywhere*, not even on eBay.

If one should appear on the market, would my J720 also work with it?

I didn't realise there was anything else besides the HP card. Although its still quite expensive I'd be more confident with it over the driver availability and 100% compatibility. Not to mention the thing isn't comprised of separate boxes and cables. (eurgh!)

I love the Colorgraphics Voyager pcmcia card. The small dongle takes the stress off the vga connector...and it works with all my hpcs, from the 690, 720, and others...

I forgot all about possible connector-stress issues.
Except, that I'm also the forgetful and chaotically untidy type of person [a symptom of modern gadget distractions ], so in the long run the all-in-one card would be more practical.

Hi technogeist2k9!

Did you buy so far the vga-out hp card?
If positive, then kindly ask you to have a look and help me with some answers at http://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=15397&posts=7
Thank you very much!

Nope.

When I eventually had the cash to spare, I couldn't find anymore for sale. Doh!

I've already seen that thread. Sounds like the card and/or machine connector damaged.

They are on HPCFactor for download under the Support and Tutorials area, then go to the Hardware Compatibility List and look under video devices....
